Your Award Journey Starts Here:
How it Works
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a dynamic, experiential learning framework for young people ages 14–24. Participants choose their own goals across Skills, Physical Recreation, Service, and an Adventurous Journey. With mentorship from trained Award Leaders, young people push their limits, unlock new strengths, and turn ambition into achievement. Every milestone builds confidence, resilience, and real-world skills — earning a global credential that stands out anywhere in the world.
Find Your Path
There’s more than one way to begin your Award journey. Choose the path that best fits you.
Bring The Award to Your Community
Know an organization that would be a great fit for The Award? Schools, universities, Scouting Councils, and faith and community groups can become licensed Award Centers and offer the program to young people in their area.
Join a Local Award Center
If your school, university, club, or community organization is an Award Center, you can enroll directly with them. Award Centers provide hands-on guidance as you complete each section of The Award — Skill, Service, Physical Recreation, and the Adventurous Journey.
Open Award Center
Don’t have an Award Center in your community? No problem! You can participate entirely online. Through the Open Award Center, you’ll be paired with a trained Award Leader who supports you through every step of The Award — from choosing activities to planning your Adventurous Journey.
